The Connection Between Good Oral Health and a Healthy Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is seen by many as an epidemic today. It has been on the rise along with increasing weight issues and increasing health problems. If you have an issue with your blood pressure being too high, one thing that you can do to help is to make sure to manage your oral health. When you neglect your oral health, you can increase your blood pressure by increasing the plaque that gets built up in your blood vessels.

How to Keep Blood Pressure Down with Good Oral Health

When you brush twice and floss once each day, you remove a significant amount of plaque from your mouth. Plus, when you come in and see us every six months, we clean off anything you may leave behind. This means that the plaque your body gets, is removed, helping to keep you healthy. When your oral health is not optimal, this plaque can build up. It builds in your mouth first, but then can move around your body. This can result in plaque anywhere from your blood vessels to your brain. That is just one good reason to make sure you keep your bi-annual appointments with us.

Getting nervous about high blood pressure is not something that is going to help. Instead, you need to treat it and keep your body as healthy as you possibly can. Make sure you always take your oral health seriously, and keep up with your daily, and annual, oral health routines. It can help you stay healthy now, and it can also help you into the future.

What to Do When an Item Gets Stuck Between Your Teeth
Have you ever been there, trying to eat and all of a sudden, you feel pressure between your teeth? The first thing you should do to get that item out is to rinse your mouth. Sometimes that is all you need. From there, try flossing between those teeth. It should be enough to loosen whatever is stuck. If rinsing and flossing are not enough to budge that item, then give our office a call. We can use our professional tools to get it out before it causes you any additional discomfort. We are here to help, no matter how big or how small your dental issue may be.

Ways of Easing Dental Anxiety Before We See You
More people than you may realize struggle with dental anxiety. We see it on a regular basis. If you get anxious before coming in for a visit, don't fret. We can give you some tips! First, find out what type of procedure you need and read up on it. Information is huge when it comes to combatting anxiety. Second, tell us if you get nervous. We have seen it before and have ideas on how to help. Finally, bring along some music or a video while having your procedure. This can keep your mind off of what we are doing so you can just relax.
